Engineering/Full-time
Unity Gameplay Programmer
Build the systems that make a quiet motel feel dangerous: interaction, AI behaviour and the night's pacing.
About the role
You'll be one of the first engineers on Clocked Out, working directly with the director on the systems players touch every second: picking things up, opening doors, answering the phone, and the logic that decides when the night turns on them.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain first-person interaction, inventory and world-state systems in Unity (C#).
- Prototype horror beats quickly, then harden the ones that work.
- Write event and scripting tools that designers can use without you.
- Profile and optimise for stable frame times on mid-range PCs.
What you'll need
- 3+ years shipping games or interactive products in Unity with C#.
- Strong grasp of component architecture, ScriptableObjects and async patterns.
- Comfortable owning a feature from first prototype to final polish.
- Clear written communication. We're remote, so most decisions happen in writing.
Nice to have
- Shipped a first-person or horror title.
- Experience with Unity's Input System and Addressables.
- Interest in AI behaviour trees or utility AI.
